0 for 2

We are on our way to Lubbock for Scott to compete in a triathlon tomorrow and just stopped for lunch in the "big city" of Big Spring, Texas. We used our proven method of choosing a great Mexican restaurant and it FAILED us BIG TIME. Our usual method of picking a great little Mexican restaurant involves looking around town for the most "run-down" restaurant with a lot full of cars. Today we chose El Nopal. Looks great from the outside... parking lot full, bars on windows, paint peeling. We walked in and I began to have my doubts... clean tables, fresh paint, nice decorations. We should have left. The Mexican food was BLAH!!!!. Isaac ordered pancakes and sausage from the menu and it was really good (hard to mess up breakfast). Oh well, we ate lots of chips and salsa and will find somewhere in Lubbock tonight for a great meal.
On our last trip to Lubbock we wanted Indian food, so we chose India Palace for lunch. It was worse then BLAH!!! Maybe next trip we will find a good lunch spot. Any recommendations???
